FREE ADMISSION CALLIGRAPHY FESTIVAL AT ST PETER’S CHURCH, SUNDERLAND, UK WRITING 2011 INTERNATIONAL CALLIGAPHY SYMPOSIUM PRESENTS
CALLIGRAPHY FESTIVAL AT ST PETER’S CHURCH,
SUNDERLAND TUESDAY 26TH JULY 2011, 6.30PM TO 9.30PM
The University of Sunderland’s International Research Centre for Calligraphy
is hosting a calligraphy festival at St. Peter’s Church, Sunderland on Tuesday 26th July 2011, 6.30pm to 9.30pm. St Peter’s
is the site of the Wearmouth‐Jarrow scriptorium and is currently bidding for World Heritage status along with St Paul’s,
Jarrow. The festival is part of the Writing 2011 international calligraphy symposium with delegates from as far afield as
the Russian Federation, Argentina, Japan, Germany and Canada.
The Festival is open to the public and is planned to be informal and informative. During the evening there will be demonstrations and talks including: The venue is St Peter’s
Church, St Peter’s Way, Sunderland SR6 0DY. Admission
