Coming
soon to www.calligraphity.com - The
Calligraphy Book you Hoped Would Appear One Day - Thoughtful Gestures - Yves Leterme… Yes, Thoughtful Gestures is currently on its way from Belgium to the www.calligraphity.com bookshelves and is yours to pre-order by clicking
on this link. In Thoughtful Gestures, Belgian calligrapher Yves Leterme reflects extensively on the versatile topic of gestural writing. Countless hours
of studio time, along with several years of worldwide teaching enabled him to fine tune his thoughts and skills in this matter,
and Thoughtful Gestures is the result. The author also presents a selection of his commercial work and projects he realized in recent years,
including body-painting, murals and work on fabric and he showcases his personal artwork, the gesso pieces, discussing the
technical and philosophical aspects of the making. Thoughtful Gestures is an enjoyable and instructive read as well as a catalogue, highlighting Yves Leterme’s distinctive lettering.

Great News for Copperplate and Spencerian Calligraphers
and fans of the work of David Jones
New to www.calligraphity.com is a new book by Iranian calligrapher Hamid Reza Ebrahimi called "How to Write Copperplate". This neat book is written in both English and Persian. I am assured by the author that the English
section is hand-written but, and this is typical with Hamid Reza's work, it is so precise that it is hard to recognise
that it is not a typeset that he has created. Hamid Reza's also provides on-line videos demonstrating the lessons
contained in this book. This book is highly recommended by www.calligraphity.com.
If you are more of a Spencerian fan then we are offering 20% discount
on the fabulous "At Home with Artist Penwork 5 Book Set" written by Stephen A. Ziller in 1946 and still very popular today. The books can also be purchased
individually by following the above link.
The Artist and Poet David Jones lived in the same era as Edward
Johnston and Eric Gill and certainly had a great influence on Eric Gill. New to www.calligraphity.com this month is an amazing book by Merlin James. David Jones (1895 - 1974) - A Map of the Artist's Mind provides a beatifully illustrated overview of the life and work of David Jones including much
of his amazing work and reminiscences from some of those that knew him personally. A stunning book!!
www.calligraphity.com is on the road again during August and we will be at the CLAS Festival of Calligraphy at St
Aidan's College, Durham University in the UK on Monday 22nd August 2011. If you are in the area and are interested in
stopping by to see what's on offer you will find contact details on the Calligraphity on the Road page of this site.
