HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! to one and
all.
Welcome to 2012!!
A new year and I am
already find some new books that will be of interest to the world wide calligraphic communities that we serve from this site.
To be added to the site over the next few days is a new book from Margaret Shepherd entitled Learn World Calligraphy
and enables you to discover African, Arabic, Chinese, Ethiopian Greek, Hebrew, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Russian,
Thai and Tibetan Calligraphy and much more... covering the history and calligraphic styles this book is an eye-opener to World
Calligraphy.
Also available soon is new book by Rosemary Sassoon on Marion Richardson, her life and contribution
to handwriting. Using a informal hand Influenced by Edward Johnston, Marion produced two handwriting schemes the first of
which was the Dudley Writing Cards. Later, after studying young children's hands and how they moved, she developed her
letter forms to work for them. These were the basis of her copy books published in 1935 called Writing and Writing Patterns.
There is also a new Eleanor Winters book available titled Italic and Copperplate Calligraphy - The basics and beyond.
Hopefully I will have managed to learn how to use my new printer wit scanning and OCR capabilities this week so that
I can get the books loaded.
Best wishes to one and all for 2012 Charlie
